"Thanks to Crocs I feel like an all-terrain vehicle"

My companion asked her mom for some Crocs because it's monsoon season. And she got 3 pairs. So she gave me one and in our Crocs, we power through any weather. Because it's been raining the last week or so and it's been pretty much a party.

What a week. This upcoming week we're combining wards so it's been a little bit crazy but it's great! We got to meet with Jenny and Julia and they still have so much English interest it's incredible. But we introduced the Book of Mormon and we get to talk about that . . . so I'm really excited because we're also teaching the Plan of Salvation-- two of my favorite things!

We had interviews this last week which meant we had no time to prepare for our lesson right after. So we ended up "planning" on the subway ride there. Aka our planning went, "Probably we should review Joseph Smith" "Yep. And talk about baptism." And that's when the gang of Jehovah's Witness grandmas started trying to proselyte to us. Classic. They gave us a pamphlet so I tried to trade pamphlets. But then they gave it back to me because they said they weren't gonna read it. Great.

Our lesson with Tina went pretty well though. We ended up talking about the Law of Chastity. Definitely not what we had planned but it was good because she had a lot of questions.

We also got a new investigator this week through a 5 minute lesson in the convenience store about the Book of Mormon. But she said she'll read it and told us to come back!

Yesterday was Stake Conference and my greenie ward is in our stake. And my companion has served in 2 other wards in our stake so it was like a happy reunion with everybody I know! I imagine that's just what heaven will be like--getting to see everyone we love again!

After a crazy busy week, we also got to sing in a baptism at Seocho yesterday which was so great! Their investigator was so excited to be baptized and she'll be confirmed next week at the first combined meeting. I'm so excited for her!

Anywho, love you all and the gospel is true! And for everybody! It answers all your questions you could ever have!

안녕하세요 여러분!!

안녕하세요 여러분!! (Hi everyone!!)

Our last 강남 (Gangnam) only Sacrament Meeting.
Next week is stake conference and then we become the Gangnam 1st Ward (combined with Seocho).

This week has been good! We were able to meet with Julia, Jenny, and Tina! Julia and Jenny are mostly English interest, but when we met with them, they had both practiced English and read the pamphlet we asked them to. They'd even started to underline and study it! We were actually able to have a really good discussion about the Fall which is usually one of the hardest things to teach.

Zone Conference
We also had zone conference which was super good and just gets me more pumped to do missionary work again! Our mission president is just the best and Sister Turner's nachos are great. And we finally met with Tina again after 6ish weeks! She still isn't able to come to church because she has a work meeting in the middle so we're praying that that'll change because she really wants to learn! We watching the Restoration movie with her since it had been so long and it was a good review. Joseph Smith really was a prophet and restored Christ's church again!

Other than that, we just did a whole lot of 전도 (proselyting)!

The church is true! 사랑해요! (I love you!)

기적들!! (Miracles!!)

This week we saw so many miracles! The Lord is preparing people in Gangnam! We were able to teach our investigator 진유림 (JinYooRim) and we got to talk a lot about God and prayer. She was able to remember an experience with prayer when she was little! God really does answer our prayers no matter our age.

We also got 4 new investigators last week!!!! While on exchanges, we got a call from the Elders that someone had called off the banner at the church and wanted to learn English right then. A lot of miracles had combined into us being at the subway station where we were so that we were able to get the the church in 15 minutes instead of the normal 45 minutes from our house. During those 15 minutes, she also invited her friend! So we were able to introduce the 30/30 program and set up 2 appointments!!

At the exact same time in 노량진(Noryangjin), Sister Hawkins got to teach someone that the STL's had found that actually lives in Gangnam so they simultaneously referred her over to us and her boyfriend came too! He was super interested in the Book of Mormon so we'll get to introduce that this week to them!

Our last miracle of the week was Tina! The Elders originally started teaching Tina last transfer, referred her over to us, we met her a couple of times, and she stopped answering. We were super disappointed because she had so much real intent and desire to know. On Saturday though, the Elders got a call from her that she had lost her phone and all her contacts and had somehow found the Elders phone number written down somewhere. So the Elders called us and we are now going to start meeting with her again!

It's been a great week and I know it's the Lord's work, not ours!

Have a great week! 사랑해요!

Appointments!

안녕하세요 여러분!

This has been a great week and we're finally being able to set appointments with people! On Tuesday (which was super hot here), we planned 6 hours of 전도! We felt a little crazy but it ended up being super awesome and we met someone that we even met with!  We're not 100% sure why she wanted to meet with us because she seemed a little uncomfortable talking about religion, but she wants to meet again with her friend! We also introduced our 30/30 program to 2 people that have been attending English class so we're going to start that with both of them this week!
The Mac and Cheese was delicious. And we accidentally twinned.
When we got here, we had a huge list of LA address that we've been trying to confirm. This week we were also able to find one address that was actually right and got to share a message with her!
P-Day in Chinatown

Yesterday I was reading Helaman 5:12 and I forgot what a good verse that is. We were able to share it with some ward
members and talk about how we can build a sure foundation in Christ. It's definitely the small and simple things done over and over again that help  you to be anchored in Christ when temptations come.

The Rogue Transfer Call.

This last week was CRAZY. At the end of a transfer, we get calls on Saturday night and then we have until Wednesday morning when we met together and switch companions. As of Saturday (And when I emailed) I was staying in Gangnam with Sister Eversole. However, Tuesday morning at 9:00 we got a phone call from the AP's that our transfer call had switched and Sister Eversole was now going to Gimpo and Sister Hawkins (who was originally go
Our last day as companions
ing to Gimpo) was now coming to Gangnam. Which meant she had 24 hours to pack up all of her stuff and until we were no longer companions. Madness. And it was also Sister Eversole's birthday.
Walking down GangnamRo
However, it's great to be companions with Sister Hawkins and I'm excited to learn from her this next transfer! The Lord really does have a place for all of us even if we have to change our plans to match his.

"Helping" Sister Eversole pack
This week's been crazy but I'm excited to find out why Sister Hawkins is supposed to be here!

This is how we ended up.

예비 구도자 (Potential Investigators)

TRANSFER 4!! We're both staying in Gangnam one more transfer which was no surprise since they usually leave the people who open there for 2.

We have about 12 potential investigators and we were able to meet with one of them this past week, they're just not our investigator until we have a follow up appointment. Korea's a busy culture so we're still trying to set up appointments. There's not a lot else that happened this week and hopeful I'll be able to update you about all of our new investigators next week!

This last week I was studying the harmony of the gospels and something that stood out to me was that there are only 3 events in Christ's life that are recorded in all 4 gospels and other scripture. 2 of those events are parts of the Atonement, and the third is Christ's baptism. Those events are so important and are what we focus on as we teach. I know that Christ lived and died for us so we can follow His example!

What's July 4th?

Every week's a good week to be a missionary!

This last week we got to celebrate the 4th of July from Korea and you could tell who the old missionaries are because when someone said July 4th, they asked why that day was special.
4th of July attire
We weren't able to meet with either of  our investigators this week so we did a lot of sticker boarding. We actually met someone with a ton of English interest who came to English class and a special music night we did with the Seocho ward. We're gonna try to introduce the gospel this week.

We also got a call from an unknown number who wants to do the 30/30 program! We think she saw our phone number on a banner so we're excited to meet her this week too.
We attended a First Birthday celebration. Truly amazing!
This last week when we went to visit our investigator, we were actually at her house and she had forgotten about our appointment. But we went on a fun little adventure and got lost a couple of times, took some random buses, talked to super nice people, and made it back to the church in time for interviews. So while it was super hot and not what we had planned to do, it worked out perfectly and just like everything does in God's timing.
Umbrellas are a great invention. Too bad we didn't have one.
The church is true! Love you all!
