God's Work
A little bit ago I finished reading the Book of Mormon in Korean and so I wanted to share my testimony!! When I was 12 I read the Book of Mormon for the first time and began to gain a testimony. As I was reading, I could feel more peace everyday and came to know that that was the Holy Ghost. Now that I've read in both Korean and English, I can testify that it's equally true in both languages. As I've been sharing about the Book of Mormon for the last year and a half, I have been so happy! I know this book is God's work and that God loves each and every one of us!

Mom's Title: Only 9 Days Left
Last week we ate lunch with the 1st ward Bishop at a place called Butterfinger pancakes. He was a little skeptical about it but by the end of it, he was trying to steal my food. I got a giant pancake stack with bananas, oreos, ice cream, banana compote, and even a cheese pancake. It was super delicious.

We also got together with everyone we came to the MTC with! We played a bunch of games and even did a little throwback of reading all the quotes we'd written down at the MTC. It was so fun to hang with them but it still feels surreal that I'm leaving.
The entirety of Tuesday was spent moving. We only had one van and we'd have to haul everything down from one house, load it up, drive to the other house, unload, and repeat. But our new house is so nice. We're up on a hill which is the reason why we moved-- the senior couple had a hard time walking there. We're having a good time and are especially grateful to be close to a park and grocery stores!!

Look at those closets. I feel like the Power Puff Girls |
We met 이화인s and had a good discussion about the Restoration. It turns out she has a hard time believing in God which is pretty fundamental so we're working to help her both feel and recognize the spirit. However, she attended a Christian school so she understands everything logically. She has a lot of potential so we're excited to see how her experience praying was.
We had exchanges this week and both Sister Pari and I served in Songpa with Sister Rundall! We had a great time and the ward mission leader feed us chicken fajitas and tacos. I was so happy. We had a good time 전도ing because all of the appointments fell through. :(
We had a zone language study activity this week and I was asked to teach at it. Apparently they think my stroke order is nice enough that I talked about how to have good handwriting in Korean.
We also met Mia and had a really good lesson with her! The principle of eternal families really seemed to resonate with her and we were able to start discussing the Plan of Salvation. She really seems to be opening to the gospel but she's so busy it's hard for her to internalize what we're teaching besides in the time we meet. We'll see what happens as we continue to teach her.
I can't seem to remember anything else. Missionary work is the best!!
Love you!!!!!!

Surprise: You're moving!
We were able to meet Mia, 신옥s, and our new investigator 이화인s! We're excited to keep seeing them progress as we had good lessons with all of them.
We also had our annual hike to 남한산성 a giant fortress on top of a mountain. We went with the Incheon zone and were able to do zone conference up there and receive training about how to be better missionaries. We also had a training centered around some rocks that we took up with us-- the size of our two feet put together. Last year when we went our rocks were much smaller. However, the lesson was that we can choose to put our weakness down, in fact we don't even need them. But as we get rid of those weaknesses, we can walk away and know exactly where it is and know that we don't need to go back. Also as we choose as a group and as a mission to let go of those things, it builds a giant pile. A giant foundation where we all help each other. Since I'd gone last year, I was expecting what the training would be and I had a little bit of time to think about my rock beforehand. And I was dreading even putting it in my bag. But sometimes in life, even though we know that picking things up, doing things in a certain way will only make our life harder.

Busy, busy, busy!
This week was so busy I don't even know where to start!
We went to the temple and it was so good! Sister Morgan and I did baptisms and we were able to take some of Sister Turner's family names through for her. We also went to the distribution center and ran into a missionary that I was in the MTC with who is serving there and her family lives in the ward I'm in! We took some pictures to send to her mom.
We met a new investigator--신옥s. We actually found out when we met her that she lives in a different area so we will need to refer her, especially because she seemed interested in coming to church. She had so many questions and we were able to have a really good discussion so we're excited to teach her a time or two more. ^^ Then we went to an appointment with a former investigator whose dog peed on my foot. Two very different appointments.
Because of the service at the Olympics, we also had a big Helping hands service project with the stake where we invited all those that had attended the Olympics to come. Not many of them ended up coming but we were able to clean up Yangjae River and spend some time serving with the members.
We don't have a lot of time but the church is true and I'm so happy that I can helping other people to learn that too!

Feeling the Spirit
First of all, gotta give a little shout out to Jacob who got his mission call! Super excited for him! (He's going to the Washington Tacoma Mission, Spanish speaking.)
This last week we were finally able to start recent convert lessons with Sister KimNa which were great. She recently got a new job which makes meeting her a little bit harder but she's doing great. We taught her the Restoration and watched the Joseph Smith video which she really liked. Every time I watch that video, I'm reminded of my testimony of Joseph Smith.
We had a really cool experience with another recent convert this week. We ate dinner with her and another member and we were thinking about what message we should share to help her. We discussed it for quite a while and finally decided to share about patriarchal blessings and the Liahona. Halfway through the meal, she stops and and says "Lately I've been thinking about Patriarchal blessings. How do I get one?" It truly was the spirit guiding that message because there's no way we could have picked something so perfect for her.
We've been pretty busy this week preparing for a giant service project this week. At the Olympics, people that visited made letters to themselves about how they would serve this year. As part of it, we got to deliver their letters to them again and invite them to a service project. It was so fun to see their reactions as they read their own letter again. Service truly does bring the spirit! While we were visiting, we also ran into a man that's getting baptized next month-- in Canada.
We also had the chance to teach our Gospel English class this week which is one of my favorite things to do and we only get to do it about every 6 weeks. We shared about temples and family history and it was so fun to see them get so excited about family history. I even showed them my family tree and they loved that you can see pictures and stories.
There are so many ways that we can feel the influence of the spirit! Don't forget to look for it!

Happy Mother's Day!
Happy Mother's Day! We had a great mother's day with our mission mother, Sister Turner and also Elder Renlund! We had a super great conference with both Elder Renlund and the Area Authority, Elder Choi, learned a whole lot, and are even more excited to get back to working harder than ever.
백수미 BaekSuMi--We met her when we went back to Bucheon. |
Last week we had family home evening and it turned out great! Sister KimNa came, 2 other recent converts, and some members. The Elders taught about the Book of Mormon and then we tried applying it to ourselves and drawing pictures. Turns out that Sister KimNa has a secret talent of art. We had a super fun time.

We did a lot of 전도 this week and have been pushing ourselves to talk to more people. And we've seen so many miracles. Sister Morgan met someone while stickerboarding that asked if he could come to church and when we texted him the church address, also asked if he could bring his friend! Because of our meeting with Elder Renlund, we weren't able to go but he said he'd go next week. So we're excited for that.
We found Jamba Juice! |
Sister KimNa also gave a talk in church yesterday and she did so good! Sister Morgan and I felt like her mother a little bit and were so proud of her because we've been able to witness her progression first hand. She bore her testimony about the happiness she's found and about eternal families. We're so excited for her to keep progressing inside the gospel!

In other news, our investigators haven't been responding lately so we're continuing to look for new people. Missionary work is great though and is the happiest work!

Happy, happy, happy!
This week has been, as always, super busy! It rained about half of the week so we didn't go outside as much as normal but we still were able to 전도 a lot!
Sister Pari came this week and she's doing super great absorbing all of the information Sister Morgan and I throw at her. Perks of having 3 areas. It's super fun though and it's been a blast. We're working hard at talking to everyone and we were able to talk to double the amount of people we normally do, despite not being outside as much.
We also got to take a field trip to Incheon with the Gangnam 1st ward! They had an all day long picnic involving rented buses, a ferry, and so much meat. We had a great time bonding with the ward and also getting to know their non member friends that they brought along that were okay to meet again! We're excited to keep working with them because member missionary work is the best missionary work. ^^
Sister KimNa received the gift of the Holy Ghost yesterday and continues to grow! She loves reading conference talks on her phone and the ward Sisters are involving her in everything they do. The gospel really is the way to be happy! Missionary work is the happiest work because that's what God wants for us!
